Over the course of several years and through stakeholder input, we have identified three overarching goals SB Unified designed its 2021-24 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), which will guide the District’s priorities and fund allocation for the next three years. The plans must use a state mandated set aside of funds to provide increased and improved services for Foster Youth, Emergent Multilingual learners, low-income students and other student groups furthest from educational justice, so that these student groups can experience high levels of success. The plans will demonstrate how each school district’s budget will help achieve the goals and annually assess how well the strategies in the plan were able to improve outcomes. With parent and community input, school districts must establish goals and actions for the entire district as well as for each school.

It is a three-year budget and accountability plan that must focus on eight areas identified as state priorities and must be updated annually by July 1 of each year. The Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) is a critical part of the state's Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF).
